CURRICULUM

Ana began dancing at the age of six in Motril. At eight years old she studied with flamenco dancers from Granada “Mariquilla” and “Eva la Yerbabuena” for five years. She has also taken courses with Juan Andrés Maya, ”la Tacha”, Juan Ramírez, Javier Barón, Javier la Torre, Rafael del Carmen and Juana Amaya. In 2003 she studied at Mario Maya’s Flamenco school taking classes with Belén Maya, Rafaela Carrasco, Alejandro Granados and Yolanda Heredia.

PROFESSIONAL DATA: Ana began working professionally aged only seven years old.

In 1984 she was considered a young prodigy in Andalusia and for this reason she appeared in television programs such as “Viva La Tarde”, “Telesur”, and “Telediario de TVE”.

She performed in festivals and flamenco clubs all over Andalucia, sharing the stage with grand artists such as Juana “la del revuelo”, Enrique Morente and Jose Mercé.

In 1987 she travelled to Belgium and Holland, to perform with the guitarist Emilio Maya, a journey which would be repeated many times.

In 1990 she was the prinicpal dancer with Grupo Maya and with this flamenco group she performed in Paris (Centre for Arabic Studies), in the Ukraine (The Opera house), in London, where she shared the stage with Joselito Fernandez, in Morocco, on the occasion of the closing of the Olympic games of Rabat in the presence of the king, and also in Italy and Germany.

1996: Ana performs with the flamenco dancer Juan Ramirez in his show “Jondo and Puro”.


1999: Ana participates in the Festival of Music and Dance in Granada for several years running, dancing at the Teatro Isabel Catolica and El Palacio de Los Chapiteles.


2001: Ana dances in the play “I have still not been born” directed by J.C Plaza in the Gardens of the Generalife.

2002: Ana creates and directs her own show “The Enchantment of Water”.

2003: Ana joins the flamenco company of Maite Martin and Belén Maya, traveling throughout Spain and abroad.

2004: She dances for “Eva la Yerbabuena”.

2005-2006 Ana performs with Belén Maya.

2006 Ana appears in the show “Flamenco Larachy” at the Flamenoc club Torres Macarena in Sevilla and in Paris

2007 - Ana was selected as a finalist at the National Flamenco Contest of Córdoba...

Ana is currently collaborating with prestigious Jazz musicians such as the pianist Jesus Hernádez and the percussionist, Ruben Dantas.
